Dear colleagues,
Accurate urban climate simulations are essential for understanding and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
However, a critical gap exists in the availability of comprehensive data on building materials and equipment on a global scale.
There is a need to understand how buildings are constructed for each LCZ in any country of the world.
At Météo France / CNRM, we are committed to bridging this gap by creating an open-source database of building data for every country.
It will be available in GIS format, providing information to enhance urban climate predictions and weather forecasts worldwide.
We propose a collaborative methodology to gather these data from researchers and citizens globally.
We need your valuable insights on local building characteristics.
We kindly request a few minutes of your time to complete the following survey:
https://survey.zohopublic.eu/zs/ObC32X
Your participation will directly contribute to advancing climate research and sustainable urban development.
Please share this survey with your colleagues and networks such that we can collectively construct a more complete
database to benefit our community.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
