Dear colleagues,

I wanted to bring to your attention an opportunity to contribute to a special collection in Discover Environment: Monitoring and Adapting to Urban Heat Stresses and Implications for Public Health.

Topics for this collection include, but are not limited to:
a) urban heat island effects and heat wave dynamics in metropolitan regions;
b) comparative assessment of urban heat resilience across cities with diverse geographic, climatic, and socioeconomic contexts;
c) urban nature-based climate solutions, including comprehensive evaluation of their co-benefits and ecosystem services to support multifunctional urban landscapes;
d) climate justice and heat vulnerability in cities, particular for the Global South, with attention to socioeconomic disparities and equity considerations;
e) innovative adaptation strategies for urban heat resilience, including community-based and participatory approaches;
f) evidence-based approaches connecting urban planning and public health interventions that translate research findings into actionable urban climate adaptation policies.
